Release progress
Published September 8, 2026 · build 908.3.0
Included in this release
- Notes and Words: visible deletion with explicit Keep/Delete confirmation; full saved passage review, edit/cancel, and surfaced save errors.
- Bookmarks: discoverable Rename/Delete menu, blank-title validation, and reachable empty-search recovery at large text sizes.
- Archive: hide books from the shelf and restore them later without removing their text, notes, reading place or downloads.
- Recovery and cancellation: protect unsaved New Book forms, reject late Ask/dictation results, clear stale search previews, and keep a return point for saved-content jumps.
- Listen: browsing chapters or voices does not start narration generation; explicit Play/Download does. Download removal confirms the exact selected item.
- Custom reading time: type minutes, decimal hours or hours and minutes. The approximate page estimate updates immediately; the same duration drives generation.
- Reader controls: book text opts out of system Writing Tools, and More starts at full height with scrolling available.
- Layout and readability: improved large-text selection and book creation, keyboard dismissal, repeated Search-hit previews, Notebook content clearance, and light/dark button contrast.
- Source-reviewed previews: choose an explicit Wikipedia introduction or opening excerpt, retain its exact source and see the source-relative review in Book Guide.
- Change after a selected word: preserve the exact preceding text, save the candidate before review, resume a failed review without rewriting, and restore earlier versions.
- Library recovery: readable books remain available when another saved file is damaged; damaged bytes are preserved.
What the verification proves
The reviewed app source is on main. Normal and accessibility-sized screens were inspected, including actual Note/Word deletion, bookmark editing, Archive restore after relaunch, selection, menus, keyboard layouts, Search and Notebook.
The reconnected iPhone was upgraded from 908.2.0 to 908.3.0 without uninstalling. Installed metadata confirms the new version and Apple’s launch command succeeded. All 12 saved reader files and the app preferences matched the before/after backups byte-for-byte.
Simulator checks do not establish physical Apple Intelligence, every gesture, VoiceOver traversal or real audio playback.
Test and generation evidence
The full offline suite passed 728 tests. Forty-two distinct screen checks passed across separate result bundles, including saved-content lifecycles, 19 broad regressions, import, page turns, fonts, orientation and mock voice. Earlier failures were retained and rerun after fixes, not counted as passing; repeat passes are counted once.
An earlier real Create-screen trial produced a saved 414-word preview in five paragraphs with an Astra writer and a separate reviewer. It reopened from Library; the retained source and review were inspected. No paid generation was run for this release.
Still in progress
Multi-paragraph selection, exploration versus reading-progress semantics, precise shelf percentages and distant go-to-page entry remain separate follow-ups. This sweep is not a claim that every possible interaction or device is defect-free.
Real-Astra source continuation, physical gesture/audio acceptance, multisource research and full-book nonfiction quality need further verification. Source-relative model review is fallible, not independent factual verification. Selected-word source continuation is text-only; images and later chapters are not included.
